10 Ways to Light Up Christmas With Kids

There’s something magical about all of the Christmas lights out in December.  Adults like me and my husband love them, but they are even more wondrous to the littles.  The look on my daughter’s face with a slight tint of Christmas light is so special to me that I want to recreate it however I can.  So here are 10 Ways to Light Up Christmas With Kids.  Keep reading for this week’s installment of the Love to Learn Linky, too.  This post contains affiliate links.

10 Ways to Light Up Christmas has fun ideas for games, activities and more. All for kids but fun for adults too.

10 Ways to Light Up Christmas With Kids

There are so many fun things to do this holiday season. How do you pick just one?  We sometimes left my daughter play the roll.  And here’s what she helped me pick on Pinterest :)

  1. Take a Christmas light drive around the neighborhood.  We like to cozy up in our sweats, put the kiddo in her jammies and drive around looking for the most interesting lights.  Thermoses full of hot chocolate make it even more fun!
  2. Do a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt.  (The Golden Gleam)
  3. Go to the zoo for zoo lights.  Most zoos around the country do a special event where they decorate the zoo full of Christmas lights.  Check out your local zoo for details.  Oakland Zoo is our home zoo….
  4. Make a Christmas Star Lantern.  (The Practical Mom)
  5. Make some luminarias.  (Mother’s Messy Madness)
  6. Glow in the Dark stuff isn’t just for Halloween!  I love these Glow in the Dark Christmas Window Stickers {affiliate} and Candy Cane Glow Sticks {affiliate}.
  7. Make a Light Table.  (Tinkerlab)
  8. Then play Christmas Lights on it.  (Still Playing School)
  9. Decorate the Kids’ Rooms with lights.  (Hands On As We Grow)
  10. And of course, have the kids help you hang your own Christmas lights.  On the tree, on the house or on the car like I saw today on the freeway!
