California Snowball Fight

One of the best parts about living in California is the weather.  It’s especially amazing in January.  We’ve had sunshine and 70 degrees every year on my daughter’s January birthday since she was born.  But it does mean that we miss out on a few favorite activities from my Midwestern youth.  Like snowball fights.  So for her Frozen themed birthday party, we had a California Snowball Fight instead.  I’ve got some fun pics of the mayhem and keep reading for this week’s Love to Learn Linky too. Have a fun snowball fight without the snow. It's a perfect activity for every day gross motor play or Frozen themed birthday parties.

How to Play

It’s soooo easy.  Just pull out the poufs and play.  Well, maybe set a few ground rules.  No aiming for the face.  No jumping through the bushes.  Whatever you need…  The kids loved running around after each other, tossing the poufs in the air and at each other.  Just like a real snowball fight, but with better weather.

I think the adults had as much fun with this as the kids did.  I have an awesome picture of my friend totally whipping a snowball at one of her beloved children, but I think she might kill me if I posted it here :)  And as the giggling photographer during this epic battle, I quickly became a target.

  2. That is my kind of snowball fight!!! My daughter (and not so grown up husband) love getting me with snowy snowballs. I would much prefer this nice dry and fluffy snowball fight better! :)

  3. We lived in Phoenix for several years and can totally relate! My kids love the idea of snow, but when it comes right down to it, they only last 5-10 minutes out in it before they get too cold and come inside. It’s totally overrated :)
