St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Slime

My husband said to me tonight as I was typing away, “Slime again??”  Yes, it’s slime again because my daughter can’t get enough.  But this one is reeeeallly fun, I promise :)  It’s glittery and colorful and perfect for the little leprechauns hiding in your house.  It’s St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Slime.  This post contains affiliate links.

St. Patrick's Day Rainbow Slime makes for messy, glitter fun for the holiday. Don't let the leprechaun take the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Slime Recipe

  1. Cover work surface with newspaper or other protective item.  No really, do it.  Glitter loves to embed into surfaces.
  2. Pour 1/4 cup glue into a large bowl.  Add 1 tablespoon water and stir until combined.  Then add 2 tablespoons of glitter and keep stirring until uniformly distributed.
  3. Add 1/8 cup liquid starch and mix until thick and slimy.  Then knead the slime with your hands and return to the starch mixture for another mixing.  This step is important because it makes sure there’s no unmixed glue hiding in the center of your slime ball.
  4. Make the remaining five colors.  Keep slime separated in containers or with plastic wrap.  Once they touch, the colors start to mix.

  5. Now take a small ball of each color and make rainbow stripes.  Place on a tray with the gold coin confetti and plastic pot.  I highly recommend reserving some of each color of slime for another rainbow because my daughter quickly mixed the rainbow into one gorgeous mass of glitter.

Slime Fixes

Was your slime too slimy?  Rinse it with water (do not pat dry with paper towels like I did!!!).  Slime too sticky?  Mix it with some more starch.  Slime too hard?  Add a little more glue.
