5 Super Easy Snack Hacks for Active Preschoolers

This post is sponsored by Yoplait, but all thoughts and opinions are my own yogurt-loving ideas.

Many days of the week, we leave the house at 9 and aren’t back until late afternoon.  That means some pretty serious planning for me and my preschooler.  My car is usually packed with extra clothes, water, sand toys for the park, helmet for the bike, ballet shoes for class, plus lunch and snacks to make it through the day.  To make it all work, I need some Easy Snack Hacks for Active Preschoolers!  Here are my top 5 for keeping my active preschooler happy and healthy.

My top snack hack for my kiddo is to throw it all in the blender.  Fruit, yogurt (usually Greek), some greens, sometimes some grains or seeds and maybe a boost like protein or vitamin powder. Then I call it done.  And the best part about it is that I can make a two or three at once perfect for when friends come over after school or when I need leftovers.

Freeze It

A lot of kids will eat anything if it’s frozen into a popsicle.  Including the above mentioned vitamin rich, kale infused smoothie.  So take the extra and pop it into some frozen treat molds.  It’s perfect after that soccer practice because the littles burn a lot of energy traveling in packs around the ball :)

Bento Box It

First, don’t stress on this one.  Bento boxing doesn’t have to mean spending 30 minutes making a creatively characterized lunch for your kiddo.  It just means using a compartmentalized lunch box.  I like the ones with removable sections with lids because when my daughter doesn’t finish her lunch, I can take the small boxes as a snack in my back pack.

Muffin It

Muffins are like magic.  I think my daughter sees a muffin and assumes it’s a cupcake.  So no active food fights over these.  Plus they’re easy to make ahead and freeze.  For lunchtime, just grab a frozen one and throw it in the lunchbox.  It’ll be thawed right on time.  I love these breakfast Banana, Carrot & Greek Yogurt Muffins from My Nearest and Dearest.  Or grab a box of cornbread mix, throw in whatever leftovers you have (like ham, broccoli and cheese) and then bake as muffins.

Protein-Pack It

Last but not least is my personal favorite.  To keep my girl moving, I load her up with protein that keeps the energy going.  But for a kiddo who won’t eat meat other than bacon and actively gags up tofu and beans, protein is no easy trick.  Enter Yoplait Greek Yogurt.  I can hide it in her absolute favorite food, fruit gummies.  You can whip up a batch of these yummy Protein Packed Peaches and Cream Fruit Gummies in no time.
