Five Minute Crafts: Washi Tape Eggs

Not every day can have an elaborate project… Today’s Five Minute Friday project was just covering plastic Easter eggs with fun washi tape. Who knew these would be such a hit? The Babe has barely put them down since we covered them. They also made for a great hand held shell game. Which hand? Giggle giggle giggle.

Any old plastic Easter egg will do for this. It might be fun to put a surprise inside before taping them up and having the kids unwrap them. Erasers and other non-edible stuff is probably the best bet. I can just imagine finding some rotting raisins or gummy fruit inside an egg in the toy bin a year later.

I found the tape in the dollar bin at Jo-ann (had to dig deep for the super cute Hello Kitty tape) but I like cutetape.com for a great online washi tape selection and most of all, domestic shipping on authentic Japanese tape.
