Inspiring Young Engineers on Pi Day

Happy π Day!!!  I love Ï€ Day because it’s a chance to celebrate math and all of the amazing things that come from it. Like engineering.  And I try to inspire young engineers every day at Left Brain Craft Brain.  One craft at a time :) Here are some fun things you can do to celebrate!

Happy Pi Day

What is Pi?

Pi is a numerical constant, the ratio of a circle’s circumference to it’s diameter.  And it’s equal to 3.14159. Approximately.  Because Pi is an irrational number that can never be written in it’s entirety.

Celebrate the Pi Day of the Century

2015 is a very special year for π.  Because we have the date 3/14/15 and at 9:26:53 you can celebrate a few more digits.

Think about being an Engineer:  And when I say Engineer, I mean an MIT Engineer, like me.  And learn one of the cheers for the school that celebrates π every day.

E to the U du dx,
E to the X dx.
Cosine, secant, tangent, sine, 3.14159.
Integral radical mu dv
Slipstick, sliderule, MIT.
Go Tech!

Many thanks to an MIT friend’s daughter for cheering for us!
